CERTIFIED NATURE EDUCATOR COURSE
Nature Educator Basic Level
Length: 2 weeks
This two-week course provides the basic level knowledge to comprehend what is nature education and its practice and methodology. It focuses on methods and skills on how to increase children’s nature relationship and positive nature experiences through senses activities, games and art.
Nature Educator Middle Level
Length: 4 weeks
This course provides you a good knowledge of nature education and wide understanding of outdoor learning. You will learn the basic theories and principles, what to consider when you plan nature educational activities with children, how to develop your own educational skills and multiple concrete nature educational activities and outdoor learning methods. The taught methods are multidisciplinary and phenomenon-based learning, science education, how to teach different subjects, like mathematics and English outdoors and structure of a nature trip. After the course, you will be able to plan fun and pedagogical nature educational activities and outdoor learning lessons for children.

Nature Educator High Level
Length: 8 weeks
This course finalizes the training and teaches other learning methods, such as garden-based learning, the use of stories and drama in Nature Education, how to develop children’s thinking and discussion skills, methods for birding and aquatic environments and adventure pedagogy that support Finnish Nature and Environmental Education practices and has a broad summary that connects all the three courses together. After this course you will be able to plan fun and pedagogical nature educational activities, establish and use gardens as a learning platform and understand the Finnish Nature and Environmental Education practices.
